About Houx

Houx Pottery was established in 2024 by Holly Newing.

Holly began working with clay in 2022, and has since refined her style to create simple, functional forms for everyday use. Every piece is thrown on the wheel and finished by hand, always with a part of the underlying clay body remaining exposed. The idea is for each item to remain tactile, and to remind its user of the earthy material which forms the base of the craft.

Holly started out by working in a community studio in North London, surrounded by other potters and good friends. She now runs her own studio in Wiltshire.
